

On February 14, the terminal was open to a select group of local volunteers to test out the New Single Terminal as if they were about to board a flight.

Leading up to the Opening Ceremony and official first operating day of the New Single Terminal, there have been several opportunities for the Kansas City community to be involved in the finalization and celebration of the project. After working on this project for four years, the Weitz team is proud celebrate this historic upgrade to the airport and greater community. This project set multiple records, including becoming the second LEED Gold and the largest LEED Gold airport in the U.S.

An Opening Ceremony will be held the day before followed by an overnight switchover occurring between the old and new terminals. On February 28, the first flights will take off from the New Single Terminal at the Kansas City International Airport.
